The average homeowner gets 3 solar quotes and picks none of them. Ours are different.
For solar installers serving the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area
The Home Solar Accelerator is a nonprofit program that helps GTHA homeowners go solar. We guide them through the process, answer their questions, and connect them with vetted installers.
The program is run by The Atmospheric Fund (TAF), a regional climate agency, and delivered by Glean Energy, an independent solar advisory firm. Glean educates homeowners, collects site and usage data, prepares a personalized Solar Journey Report, and creates standardized quote comparisons before any installer is involved.
TAF also uses program data to work with Local Distribution Companies, municipalities, and other organizations on permitting timelines, interconnection processes, and industry bottlenecks. Installers in the network may be asked to share operational feedback as part of that work.
Here’s the deal
Every homeowner we refer has already received a Solar Journey Report with system sizing, cost estimates, and savings projections. They understand the basics. They’re ready to talk. You provide competitive, transparent quotes using our standardized format.
The program charges a 2% success-based fee on total project cost (excluding rebates and GST/HST) for 2026. The fee applies only after a homeowner signs a contract and provides an initial deposit. If your quote isn’t chosen, you pay nothing.
You’ll retain full control over system design, pricing, contracts, and the customer relationship once selected. There is no pressure to compete on lowest price.
What you get
- Apples-to-apples quoting: Homeowners compare quotes in a standardized format. No more getting undercut by lowball bids that bury costs in fine print.
- Marketing you don’t have to do: We’re promoting the program through Toronto Hydro, RBC, municipal partners, and community networks. You focus on installations.
- A referral that carries weight: The program is run by The Atmospheric Fund, a regional climate agency with 30 years in the GTHA. When we recommend you, homeowners listen.
What we expect
- Transparent pricing: Use our standardized quote format. No hidden fees. Clearly itemized costs.
- Quality work: Meet or exceed industry standards for equipment, installation, and customer service.
- No pressure sales: Our homeowners chose a guided process for a reason. Hard sells work against it.
- Responsiveness: Respond to quote requests within 5 business days. Keep homeowners informed throughout the process.
Requirements
- Active in the GTHA: Licensed to operate and currently serving the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area.
- Clean Tech Services Network member: Listed on Toronto Hydro’s CSN, which demonstrates business capacity and legitimacy. Not a member yet? We can help expedite enrolment.
- Technical vetting by Glean: Our team reviews your credentials, certifications, insurance, and track record.
- Code of conduct: Commit to quality standards and respectful customer interactions.
We don’t favour any installer. Homeowners choose based on price, timeline, and fit.
Common questions
What does it cost to join?
Nothing to join. The 2% success-based fee only applies when a homeowner you’ve quoted signs a contract. If they don’t choose you, there’s no charge.
How many leads will I get?
That depends on demand. We’re launching with a soft rollout in spring 2026 and scaling through the year. Early network members will see more volume as the program grows.
Can I be the exclusive installer?
No. We solicit 3 quotes for each homeowner. This keeps pricing honest and builds trust in the program.
Will my name be listed on the website?
No. The installer network is not public. This avoids competitive friction and ensures homeowners go through our process rather than contacting installers directly.
What if I’m not on the Clean Tech Services Network?
Talk to us. We can help connect you with Toronto Hydro to start the enrolment process.
Ready to join?
You’ll also need to join or be listed on Toronto Hydro’s Clean Tech Services Network (CSN). If you’re not a member yet, we can help with that.
